Diplomat Message Engine

The Diplomat Message Engine is a device for passing messages between your existing business applications and other parties' computer systems located somewhere else. It does this reliabily, securely and in a way that justifies your trust. Like a real diplomat, the message engine works together smoothly with your business partners to honestly and faithfully represent your wishes to them and theirs to you.

The Diplomat Message Engine is designed as an appliance to be easily plugged into your existing network. We want you to be able to configure the engine yourself, setting the security levels you are confortable with. It comes as a piece of hardware with the software already loaded. However if you wish, you may purchase the software license alone and install it on your own hardware. It will work with a wide variety of operating systems and hardware platforms.

Key Benefits

	A single transaction can be configured to use both synchronous and asynchronous protocols. You may place an order using the web to the 3rd party but receive the response by email. So even if you don't have your own permanent Internet connection, you can still conduct business transactions in a reliable and secure manner.
	The engine can ensure transactions are secure, unable to be read by anyone other than the intended parties using popular encryption methods.
	The other party can trust the message really came from you (or theirs from them) by having the engine digitally sign your message before it is transmitted and verified when they are received.
	Should a message fail to be sent the engine will continue to retry sending for a configured number of times or until a 'drop dead' time is reached. If still it can not be sent, an alarm is signalled notifying the appropriate person in your organisation of the failure.
	The engine uses a variety of well-established protocols to communicate with your business partners including ebXML, AS1 & AS2 and more. Custom protocols can generally be provided at extra cost.
	A number of mechanisms for connecting to your business applications are included FTP, file sharing, database. Custom mechanisms can be developed for a reasonable cost.
